This information has been collected using an independent, comprehensive and non-biased literature search strategy.

For each drug, a literature search is conducted to find systematic reviews, meta-analyses, or randomized controlled trials. In addition, access to product monographs and evidence-based clinical practice guidelines is provided when available. Drug information on the DRUGDOCS® database is updated regularly.

Study Selection
Criteria

A Systematic Review or Meta-Analysis was included if it:

  • Included the drug of interest, at the FDA approved indication and dosage
  • Was published within the past 5 years, or within the past 10 years if a Systematic Review, Meta-Analysis, or RCT published within the past 5 years could not be identified


A Randomized Controlled Trial was included if it:

  • Included the drug of interest, at the FDA approved indication and dosage
  • Was published within the past 5 years, if a Systematic Review or Meta-Analysis published within the past 5 years could not be identified
  • Was published within the past 10 years, if a Systematic Review or Meta-Analysis published within the past 10 years could not be identified, and an RCT within the past 5 years could not be identified


A Clinical Practice Guideline was included if it:

  • Included the drug of interest, at the FDA approved indication and dosage
  • Was published within the past 5 years, or within the past 10 years if a Clinical Practice Guideline published within the past 5 years could not be identified
  • Consisted of evidence-based recommendations, based primarily on the highest level of clinical study evidence available
